I can easily imagine myself sitting under this colorful umbrella, listening to the sound of the waves crashing onto shore, and enjoying the beauty of the ocean as far as the eye can see. I started this design with only a rainbow umbrella in mind and it evolved into this picturesque beach scene. I’m super pleased with the final result.
For this C2C crochet pattern I recommend using worsted weight yarn and a 5 mm (H-8) crochet hook. The chart size is 100 blocks by 80 blocks and (depending on your crochet gauge) the finished blanket should measure approximately 77 inches x 52 inches. If you wish to adjust the size you can do so by using thinner yarn and a smaller hook, or by crocheting what is called the mini C2C stitch. The mini corner-to-corner stitch uses half double crochet stitches instead of double crochet stitches, making the blocks slightly smaller overall. The finished size would then be approximately 67 inches x 54 inches.
